The combination is compelling. A 2kWh power station is large enough to keep essential appliances running during an outage, yet the Power 2000 remains considerably easier to store and transport than a permanently installed home battery.

It also has enough output to run appliances that defeat smaller power stations. Space heaters, microwaves, coffee makers, refrigerators and many power tools are within its 3,000W continuous limit, although running several high-demand appliances simultaneously will drain the battery quickly.

The Power 2000 has a compact, rectangular design measuring approximately 17.6 inches long, 8.9 inches deep and 12.8 inches high. Its 2,048Wh battery is packaged into a relatively narrow 32.6-liter body.

Most controls and connectors are grouped on the front. If a household completed one full cycle every day, 4,000 cycles would represent nearly 11 years. Real battery aging also depends on storage temperature, charge level, power demand and calendar age, so that calculation shouldn’t be treated as a guaranteed service life.

DJI recommends storing the power station at approximately 50% to 70% charge, ideally around 60%, when it won’t be used for an extended period. Output Power & Performance

The 3,000W inverter is one of the main reasons to choose the Power 2000 over a conventional 2kWh unit.

Battery capacity and inverter output describe different things:

  • Watt-hours measure how much energy the battery stores.

A large inverter can run demanding appliances, but it doesn’t make the battery last longer. If a device continuously consumes 2,000W, a 2,048Wh battery cannot run it for an hour at full theoretical capacity once inverter losses and system reserves are considered.

These results support the credibility of DJI’s 3,000W continuous rating, but they don’t guarantee identical performance with every load.

USB and DC output

The Power 2000 has an excellent USB selection:

The 140W USB-C connections support USB Power Delivery 3.1. Reaching the full rate requires a compatible device and an EPR-rated cable. That’s enough to charge many high-performance laptops without using their AC adapters.

There is an important USB-A limitation. DJI states that a USB-A port can provide up to 24W when used alone, but when two or more USB-A ports operate simultaneously, each defaults to 5V/2A or 10W. The U.S. version can recharge from zero to 80% in approximately 55 minutes and reach full charge in around 90 minutes under DJI’s laboratory conditions.

The first 80% charges faster because the system reduces power near full capacity to control temperature and protect the cells. This behavior is normal for lithium batteries.

Fast charging matters during an extended outage. If grid power returns briefly, 55 minutes may be enough to recover most of the battery. It’s also useful for travelers who can recharge at a powered campsite or another location before returning off-grid.

The tradeoff is load on the household circuit. Fast charging a large battery draws substantial power. Avoid sharing that circuit with other high-demand appliances, particularly if the outlet or wiring is old.

DJI provides two AC modes. Fast Mode prioritizes charging time, while Standard Mode reduces charging demand and noise. Standard Mode is more appropriate overnight or when sharing a circuit with other equipment.

Independent testing has produced promising results. Bob Vila reported charging a near-empty unit to full in just over an hour, faster than DJI’s quoted 90 minutes. Charging time varies with initial battery level, ambient temperature, circuit voltage and active loads, so buyers should treat this as one reviewer’s result rather than a universal expectation.

The Power 2000 can also combine AC and DC input. DJI states that input to the base unit can reach 2,200W, while a system connected to an expansion battery can accept up to 3,000W under the required configuration.

The Power 2000’s solar potential is excellent, but its accessory requirements need careful explanation.

DJI claims the 1,800W setup can charge the Power 2000 from empty to full in approximately 75 minutes under controlled conditions. Real outdoor results will depend on panel orientation, temperature, cloud cover, shading and whether the array can actually produce 1,800W.

Most buyers won’t need that much solar. A 400W array could theoretically replace 2kWh over five peak-sun hours, but conversion losses and variable conditions mean a full recharge will generally require longer.
